In 2020, the app market witnessed a total of 218 billion downloads. An average user spends 90% of his time using mobile applications. People who are planning to develop mobile apps, this is a good time.

But at the same time, an average person has 40 or more apps installed on his smartphone. And out of those, a whopping 89% of users spend their time on just 18 apps leaving half of the apps unused. What does this mean?

Without looking into the planning process and all-important factors, your idea doesn’t guarantee you success.

With our years of experience in building complex tools and technologies and designing robust mobile applications, we have put together important factors to consider before you start building your mobile app.

Here we are listing down the points before diving into more details:

1. Know your audience-

You have a brilliant idea for a mobile app, but you have not paid attention to who your audience is. There is a good chance that the idea won’t succeed. Knowing your targeted audience is important, as the users validates your idea.

User persona – age group of targeted users, country, gender, occupation and the interests of the people, all these factors are important to shape app design.

2. Choose a suitable platform

When it comes to choose a platform, it becomes hard to tell for sure which platform is better for distribution, Android or iOS. Therefore, if you want to distribute your app widely, it is better to create an app for both platforms. It can be either native or cross platform.

Each specific platform, be it Android or iOS requires you to use language which is natively supported by the platform. For example, developers use programming languages unique to the platform, whether it be Objective-C and Swift for iOS or Java for Android. It is important to understand the difference between both the platforms before coming up with a final decision.

3. UI/UX design

In a digital world, user experience is one of the most important features. Therefore, UI/UX plays a crucial role in mobile app industry. If a user doesn’t find your app easy to use, there are 99% chances of him not coming back to the app. A well-designed app brings interface clarity to user. And your brand image depends on the quality of your app.

4. Test your app before launching it

Users expect a seamless and high-quality app experience and one single disappointment can make them delete your application. Hence, it is important to test the app before it hits the market and leads to user’s disappointment. App testing will let you know about bugs and errors so that you can resolve them and deliver a high-performance app.

Conclusion

It takes hundreds of hours to think about the concept and implementation of all those ideas and concepts while building a mobile application. And when your masterpiece is ready to launch you might think your job is done. But that is not how it is.

Your app is running smoothly and stably right now but it is not going to be like this always. App requirements change with time, an organized process is essential to handling bugs and errors to making regular updates.
